As she writes in response to our questionnaire, “Many residents (of DC and MD suburbs) treat the roads as a commuting corridor, including those around schools, resulting in low traffic safety and high-speed accidents. My position is that we need to create safer streets that support multi-modal transportation with supporting infrastructure that allows everyone using the roads to do so safely and reduce car drivership, especially for local trips.”
