About Me

Meet Bridget Schwartz

I moved to Washington DC in 2010 with my husband of 17 years, Stephen Schwartz, to Todd Place in Eckington and we relocated to Western Chevy Chase in early 2021 at Reno & Fessenden with our four dogs.  I grew up in a rural community in Southwest Georgia and my parents were small business owners, with an operating farm and a successful local restaurant both of which I worked at growing up.  I attended college at Berry College in the beautiful NW Georgia mountain town of Rome, GA and Georgia State University in bustling downtown metro Atlanta, obtaining a degree in Sociology.   After college, I began a career in higher education, working for a local community college in my hometown before moving to the George Washington University here in DC in 2010.  Over the course of my time at GW, I've grown into the role of Director of Student Employment and built a team that is based on inclusion, ethical practice, efficiency, and transparency.  In 2016 in an effort to give back to an organization that helped me achieve my professional success, I ran and was elected to the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) as the Vice President for Conference Services.  During my time with NSEA, I also served as the Vice President for Marketing & Membership, President-Elect, and two terms as President during the challenging years of 2020 and 2021.

Having reached my professional goals and serving in leadership positions within NSEA and the GW staff community, I would like to give back to the community that we've chosen for this next chapter of our lives.  I will leverage my professional and life experiences to be a dedicated ANC member committed to supporting the whole of the community & working with constituents to ensure that it is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place to call home.

I value creating an environment where all are welcomed and valued, and have equal access & opportunity to resources.

I believe that to be an effective community leader, I will need to put my personal feelings to the side and actively work to understand and promote residents' desires.
